Apprentice Star Supports Charity Week, UK

Ansell Henry, star from series two of the Apprentice, showed his support for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign by handing out prizes to the winning Morgan Hunt employees who raised the most money for people with muscle disease.

The finale of the charity week partnership, held on Friday 29 February at the Octive8 bar in Covent Garden, was filled with a buzz as Morgan Hunt employees raised over £31,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. During this week staff at the recruitment agency competed to place the highest number of candidates on their register into work. A proportion of the recruitment fee gained from each placement was donated to the charity.

The charity would like to thank Paul Callaghan from series three of the Apprentice for providing the winning prize for the most successful team, a skydiving experience for six people with him.

Speaking about the cause Ansell Henry, said: "Having a brother who has a muscle wasting disease and is a manager at one of the largest companies in the world, this project has been close to my heart. I am proud to support the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign."

Paul Callaghan commented: "The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is a great charity and a really worthwhile cause. I have been absolutely delighted to be a part of this project."

Talking about the partnership, Philip Butcher, Chief Executive of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, said: "It is important to help young adults who have muscle disease experience life in a busy office environment and we are delighted that as part of their 'Charity of the Year' scheme Morgan Hunt has offered valuable work experience opportunities. I hope that this week has been enjoyable for everyone while raising awareness about muscle disease. Thank you to all the staff at Morgan Hunt for their invaluable support for the cause."

Stephen Fordham, a director at Morgan Hunt said: "This charity week has been a great opportunity for our staff to learn more about muscle disease and raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. I think it is essential for corporate organisations to offer opportunities such as work experience to young adults from all walks of life."

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is the only national charity focusing on all muscle diseases. It invests £3 million a year in care support services, research, muscle centres, networks, information and resources.
