Call For Abstracts - Improving The Delivery Of Services For Outpatients - Toolkit Seminar

Change Champions invites participation in its Toolkit Seminar, Improving the Delivery of Services for Outpatients by submitting an abstract to present at the seminar.

Seminar Aims

-- Highlight strategies, systems, structures and redesigns that have resulted in improvements in the delivery of services for outpatients
-- Showcase models of care/service delivery/clinical practice improvement and other innovations projects with demonstrated outcomes that have resulted in an improvement in the co-ordination services for outpatients at the acute, ambulatory care and primary care interface
-- Showcase patient centred approaches to the design, management, co-ordination and delivery of improved services for outpatients.

Call for Papers

Submissions are invited for abstracts that demonstrate outcomes of innovative approaches to improving the delivery of services for outpatients.

Key topics include

access, acute/subacute, ambulatory, booking and referral systems, communication, culture change, co-ordination of care/continuity of care, clinical leadership, demand management, efficiency gains, information technology, models of care, multidisciplinary approaches, patient journey, primary care, service co-ordination/improvement, staff and patient satisfaction, system redesign, waiting list management, workforce development

Guidelines for Abstracts
Abstracts should:

-- Be presented in Microsoft Word format and as the final version (ie no edits visible in text)
-- Include the title of the proposed paper, each author's name with the name of the presenting author underlined, position title, organization and contact details ie telephone, email and mailing address
-- Focus on the practical implementation of a project/case study where the outcomes/results have led to changes including lessons learnt, what worked and what didn't work.
-- State what your project adds to what is already known. How is the project innovative?
-- Be no more than 250 words in length
-- Include a brief bio ie 6-10 lines that outlines recent work experience and relevant expertise.
-- Include a brief summary of your experience in presenting at conferences
-- Theoretical papers will not be considered.

Presentation Format

Abstracts accepted will be presented at the seminar as a PowerPoint presentation. In addition to the presentation, papers for accepted abstracts will also be welcomed. Presenters will be allocated a 20-minute timeslot, plus 5 minutes for panel discussion at the end of their session.

Presenting authors at the seminar will receive ONE complimentary registration. Please note that travel and accommodation expenses to the seminar will be at the presenter's expense.
