Eyetech Reiterates Confidence in Macugen(R) (pegaptanib sodium injection)

Eyetech Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: EYET) announced that it will hold a conference call to reiterate its confidence in Macugen and discuss issues presented by a potential competitor's recently released preliminary, topline clinical trial data for the potential use of an antibody fragment in the treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration (neovascular AMD). Neovascular AMD is the leading cause of blindness in people over 60 years of age.
