Look After Your Head Campaign And Competition - Brain Injury Awareness Week, UK
BIRT has provided schools across the UK with a free Educational Resource Pack, which includes material that can be used to help children learn about looking after their heads. For example, this can be by wearing protective headgear whilst enjoying leisure activities such as cycling. Children will be taking part in various activities taken from the Education Resource Pack to help convey this important message.
Children will be entering BIRT's competition to create a design to promote "Look After Your Head" - the aim is to encourage children to think of ways that they could do this. There is a prize of a bicycle and helmet, plus three runners up prizes, for the best designs in each of the twelve participating regions. One of the regional winning designs will be chosen to be used on promotional items such as posters, mugs and t-shirts in BIRT's 2009 campaign.
The Look After Your Head Campaign is supported by The British Medical Association, The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, the Bicycle Helmet Initiative Trust, and Creativity International.
