The American Society of Gene Therapy (ASGT) is pleased to invite members of the press to a media only event designed to highlight some of the latest and most promising developments in gene therapy products and related technologies.

WHY
Several children born with "bubble-boy disease" caused by ADA deficiency have been cured by gene therapy without major side effects and researchers have ameliorated a growing list of disease conditions in animals including diabetes, arthritis, heart disease and cancer. Some of these gene therapy treatments are now in advanced stages of clinical trials.
WHO
Leading scientists in the fields of cancer, arthritis, infectious diseases, and childhood blindness will discuss their research and progress toward bringing these promising gene therapy technologies and products to the clinic.

AMERICAN SOCIETY OF GENE THERAPY TO HOST "NOVEL TECHNOLOGIES TO ADVANCE GENE TRANSFER APPLICATIONS" PRESS CONFERENCE AT 10th ANNUAL MEETING
WHAT
The American Society of Gene Therapy (ASGT) is pleased to invite media to a lunch and press conference designed to answer your questions about the most newsworthy abstracts presented at the 2007 Annual Meeting.
To gain access to the 10th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Gene Therapy, journalists and medical/science writers must provide the information found on the ASGT Media Registration form. The registration fee for working media representatives is waived. Media credentials must be presented on-site in the Press Room in order to receive your press badge. Those registering as press must represent the editorial staff. Advertising or marketing representatives will not be registered as press. A press room with interview space, computers, modem lines, telephone and fax services will also be available for on-site for media representatives.
Representatives of the following media types will be registered:

* Medical or health care publications
* Broadcast media
* Web site writers
