66% of America's wired senior citizens search for health information online
The study says the current number of "wired" seniors who have performed health searches is an increase of more than 25% since 2000. The research also found 53% of wired seniors have gone to websites that provide information or support for a specific medical condition or personal situation.
While internet users under age 65 outnumber older Americans in searching for almost all health topics, the study found online seniors are more likely to describe their health as "fair" or "poor" and are also more likely to have a disability or chronic disease.
