Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica Japan Begins Distributing Animal Health Products Through Its Sales Channel

Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica Japan, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Boehringer Ingelheim, began distributing animal health products through its own sales channel on July 1.

As an initial step, the company will market two products, a veterinary drug called METACAM and dietary supplement called VIACTAN Plus.

METACAM (meloxicam), which was developed by Boheringer Ingelheim, is a new generation non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug indicated for pain control and relief of dogs. The dietary supplement VIACTAN Plus, which targets both dogs and cats, contains essential fatty acids like gamma linolenic acid as well as antioxidants including vitamin E.

Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica Japan aims to reinforce its relationship with animal hospitals and respond to their needs in a timely manner.
