Japanese Professor warns of environmental health hazards
"Embryos and children are far more sensitive to various substances and environmental factors than adults," Mori said in a speech he delivered in Yokohama at the general meeting of the All Japan Health and Natural Foods Association, a nonprofit organization promoting safe, healthy foods for consumers.
Mori, an expert on endocrine disrupters, has written a book on the topic called "Taiji no Fukugo Osen" (Multiple Contamination of Embryos), published in 2002.
Human embryos affected by toxins at an early stage of development are believed to suffer lifelong effects, he said.
