The scanner was delivered to a new location near Godalming in Surrey, which is currently under construction. When complete in Easter 2008, the clinic will provide the most advanced and innovative diagnostic and rehabilitation facilities for small animal neuro-orthopaedics in the UK. The aim of the practice is to marry compassion with diagnostic and surgical excellence and provide the optimal environment for both pet and owner.
The MAGNETOM Symphony provides high resolution images at a reduced scan time in order to quickly and efficiently diagnose anomalies in the body. Its open design means that it will easily accommodate domestic animals in a non-threatening environment. Veterinary surgeons can glean sufficient results for diagnosis whilst owners have the assurance that their animals will not suffer undue discomfort. The scanner will ensure a 7-day week MRI service dedicated to small animal use for the first time in UK.
