Mayo Clinic to host clinical research conference
The conference is designed for study coordinators, nurses, physicians and other research personnel involved in the management and coordination of clinical research, and will provide a comprehensive review of the responsibilities and processes of clinical research performance. The conference format balances topics of national and general interest, which are presented in general sessions, with clinical research and management issues addressed in breakout sessions.
At the end of the conference, participants should be able to:
• Interpret current issues involved in the informed consent process
• Recognize the importance of patient protection in the current research environment
• Evaluate how the HIPAA requirements relate to clinical research
• Illustrate the principles of Good Clinical Practice
• Identify current legal issues in clinical research
• Discuss adverse experience reporting requirements
• Demonstrate the mechanics of teamwork in clinical research
• Examine emerging future trends of research

The conference is intended to provide for continuing education to individuals who need to review the mechanics of clinical research coordination and has been approved for multiple forms of continuing education credit. It will be held in the Exhibit Hall, Mayo Civic Center, 30 Civic Center Drive S.E. in Rochester. The registration fee is $500.
