Each of these hospitals, with their existing staff and consultants, will continue to provide high standards of treatment and care. BMI Healthcare a group of 58 acute care private patient hospitals around the United Kingdom with over 2,700 beds. Handling over 250,000 inpatient and one million outpatient visits each year, nearly half of the procedures undertaken for private patients are of a major or complex nature.
These BMI Healthcare hospitals' principal focus is on private patient care for outpatients, day case and inpatients. Each hospital has an experienced doctor on-site 24 hours a day to support patient care and a fully qualified nursing, clinical and support team plus diagnostic and treatment technology relevant to the patient procedures undertaken. They are chosen by over 9,000 specialist consultant doctors for private patient care and limit their admission of NHS patients to 10% or less of total patients.
They undertake all of their work to at least the standards set under relevant regulations and guidelines, which are at least the same standards as those required of the NHS.
