Patients In Wales Still Waiting Too Long - Plaid Cymru
Plaid Cymru's Shadow Health Minister Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM said there were still too many people on waiting lists in Wales.
Rhodri Glyn Thomas commented:
"A decrease in the number of people on a waiting list is welcome news but to still have 290,000 people on a waiting list in Wales is unacceptable.
People are waiting far too long for hospital treatment in Wales. The Welsh people deserve better. If England and Scotland can do it then so should we.
What we are seeing in Wales is that people are getting frustrated with New Labour's handling of the health service in Wales. It is driving people increasingly to seek treatment in the private sector. Even New Labour politicians, such as Chris Bryant are aware of the problems now, and there must be a problem if he of all people is willing to criticise the policies of his party colleagues."
