Stars tee off for the Bobby Moore Fund, Cancer Research UK
This is the second year that DJ Spoony has chosen the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK as the benefiting charity for funds raised through this exciting golf day, at one of the finest golf courses in the UK.
DJ Spoony says: "Last year was such a great day out raising over £12,000 for the Bobby Moore Fund. This year has a great mix of sporting personalities, celebrities and pro-golfers, who will help raise £15,000 making this even more successful."
Stephanie Moore, Bobby's widow, says: "We are delighted that DJ Spoony has chosen the Bobby Moore Fund for the second year as the benefiting charity.
"Much of the money raised will go towards a fantastic new laboratory at the bowel cancer unit at St Mark's Hospital, Middlesex. Bowel cancer affects over 35,500 people each year, the disease from which my husband Bobby Moore died almost eleven years ago."
The event, sponsored by Oakley, will consist of one round of golf followed by a drinks reception, dinner and an auction. Auction items include a William Hunt suit, a signed Ian Poulter golf bag and set of clubs, and an England Euro 2004 signed shirt.
