Survey Examines Workers' Opinions of Employer-Health Benefits, USA
"Majority of Adults With Employer-Provided Health Insurance Would Forego a Pay Increase To Maintain Their Health Insurance Benefits,"... Wall Street Journal Online Health Care Poll: Forty-three percent of adults with employer-sponsored health insurance say their health care benefits have become worse over the last two or three years, while 14% said their salary has become worse and 18% said their retirement benefits have worsened, according to a survey of 2,299 adults for the Wall Street Journal Online's Health Industry Edition. The survey also shows that 59% of adults with employer-sponsored health insurance think that it is more important to receive a pay increase next year than to maintain or improve their current level of health benefits, compared with 35% who said that maintaining or improving their current health benefits is more important. In addition, 61% said that if faced with a choice, they would choose no pay increase and maintaining their current health benefits level ("Majority of Adults With Employer-Provided Health Insurance Would Forego a Pay Increase To Maintain Their Health Insurance Benefits," Wall Street Journal Online Health Care Poll, 8/4).
